DUXBURY, MA, Dec 16, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) — Based on results from the firm's annual survey of Video Conferencing end users, Wainhouse Research reports that customers are continuing their investments in visual collaboration solutions, even in the current economic climate, with the two largest drivers being travel reduction and improved decision making.
Survey results from 247 Video Conferencing users indicate that in the past year, both interest in and purchases of more advanced visual solutions have increased dramatically, with respondents claiming that 32% of the deployed systems can now support 720p HD Video Conferencing .
Furthermore, 23% of respondents have either deployed Telepresence suites or are planning on deploying within one year. To support these and other unified communications applications, customers are continuing their migration to IP, with users reporting that 76% of video calls now take place on an IP network, up from 66% one year earlier. In addition, interest in integrating Video Conferencing to unified communications platforms has grown significantly.
